Faith No More – Angel Dust

After no less than 18 years, Faith No More famously released a new studio album in May 2015. The reactions in the media and chart rankings were fantastic, which is not a matter of course after such a long break. To mark the occasion, Warner Music released these two great classics from the catalog that laid the foundation for the band's cult status in 1989 and 1992 in lavish deluxe editions.

They sounded like no other band and this was the key to their worldwide success, which led them to six gold and three platinum awards internationally, including gold in Germany for "Angel Dust". The breakthrough came in 1989 with the album "The Real Thing", which was the band's third album, but the first to be recorded with the successful line-up of Mike Bordin (drums), Roddy Bottum (keyboards), Bill Gould (bass), Jim Martin (guitars) and singer Mike Patton. The album impressed with its great stylistic diversity, but the songs were linked by their typical sound and a homogeneous energy. It went platinum in the USA and reached the top 40 in Germany.

After a more than extensive tour, Faith No More returned in 1992 with Angel Dust. The album immediately catapulted to number 10 in the US charts and even reached number 8 in Germany! It went gold both here and in the USA. Soon recognized as one of the band's most important albums, the album moves between extremes: On the one hand highly aggressive and unsettling, on the other again incredibly beautiful and soothing. With songs like Midlife Crisis, Jizzlobber. R.V. and Small Victory, it revealed all facets of the band. Among the eleven tracks on the bonus LP are a different mix of Midlife Crisis by the band's longtime producer Matt Wallace, a trio of live recordings from Munich, the Dead Kennedys cover Let's Lynch The Landlord and the unforgettable version of the Commodores song Easy.
